Description/Job Summary

Internal candidates will be considered first.

This requisition is for 1 position on 3nd shift Dark Meat Debone.

The overall purpose of the Machine Operator is to support plant production by operating the assigned machinery and performing basic maintenance on the assigned plant processing equipment.

Generally 9:00A.M. – 5:30 P.M. /12:30A.M. – 9:00 A.M. as scheduled by management with 2-10 minute breaks; 1-30 minute lunch. Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management. Hours may be modified to ensure coverage during all hours of operation.

Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Perform daily machine set-up and break down. Make any necessary initial machine calibrations.

  2. Monitor machine performance using assigned machine check schedule. Make necessary adjustments to meet quality and production standards. These activities could include: machine checks, machine clean outs, minor adjustments and corrective maintenance.

  3. Perform scheduled lubrication of equipment. Grease and lube machine as needed.

  4. Clean out machines on an as needed basis.

  5. Perform weekend PMs – currently four (4) hours every Saturday.

  6. Monitor and perform LOTO operations.

  7. Adhere to all safety requirements including the wearing of personal protective equipment. Prevent and report unsafe acts and conditions.

  8. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Reading, writing, math and analytical skill required.

Must score at least 70% on Mechanical Aptitude test. The test will be given at the plant.

Specialized or technical knowledge, credentials or licensing required for the position.

  • Fork lift driver training and license

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Basic maintenance/mechanical skill preferred.
