Oracle Product Manager/Strategy 4-ProdDev in Raleigh, North Carolina

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

Details of responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead the development of the product strategy and vision supported by internal and external analysis

  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners

  • Define creative and high quality product roadmaps based on team strategy and vision

  • Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application

  • Develop business cases and work closely with the business teams to cost, price and deliver the products.

  • Work closely with vendors and Oracle product teams supplying solution/service components

  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, performance, and operational support load

  • Work closely with engineering teams, design, and program management in an agile environment to deliver products to market

  • Manage delivery of current products concurrently with future product planning

  • Drive product launches including working with marketing team, executives, sales, and other team members

  • Ensure compliance and deliverables to all internal processes necessary to deliver solutions in a timely manner

  • Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

  • Support tradeshows and other key customer engagements (meetings, presentations etc.)

  • Provide mentorship and leadership for the product management team within the organization


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or engineering field

  • Minimum 7 years product management experience

  • Demonstrated track record of delivering innovative and successful technical products or services

  • Experience using Agile development methodologies preferably as a chief product owner

  • Experience delivering product within a Devops or SaaS/PaaS environment.


  • MBA

  • 10 years of experience

  • Analytics domain knowledge and/or experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud is very desirable

  • Communications domain knowledge
